TINY SHOP WITH MORGAN HOP
A Home Workshop Odyssey
To make a long story relatively short, I began my woodworking career in a 2 car garage in the first home my wife and I owned. After selling the house, we rented a house for a few years, also with a garage. Right when it was time to buy again, I landed my dream job with a woodworking tool brand. Their state-of-the-art shop became "my" shop, so there was no need to have a garage at home. Then, faced with a global pandemic and mandatory remote work, I no longer had a shop.
After a year of navigating the ever-confusing and infinitely frustrating waters of local government bureaucracy, I finally got a permit to install a shop on my property. To meet zoning regulations, I had to scale the shop down to a small, awkward shape. Fortunately, I'm in the business of creating solutions for woodworking hobbyists with small home shops.
I bought a prefabricated building, delivered in one piece, with no finishing touches - a blank canvas. Join me as I build out this small space from the ground up, creating solutions, into what will ultimately be my personal sanctuary - a little slice of woodworking heaven.
